How can I transfer the WordPress site from my old host to CMD?

1. Contact your old host and ask them for an export of the WordPress site database. Once you’re given this file, please send it to our support department. The support department needs to know what URL address your WordPress site was on with the old host so please include this information in your email.

2. Ask your old host for your FTP login. Once you’ve connected via FTP to your old hosts server download all of the WordPress files and folders to your computer. Depending on the size of your blog this could take several hours. Once you’re finished downloading the files, open up the folder on your computer and delete the wp-config.php file.

3. Contact our support department and request your CMD FTP login.

4. Connect to your CMD server via FTP and upload the entire WordPress folder from your computer to the root directory of your CMD server. You will be completely overwriting the CMD blog folder that’s already there. Once all the files have been uploaded let our support staff know so they can finish the installation.
